Poland Expo Dubai 2020 branding & key visual

Poland Expo 2020 Dubai
Creating a branding concept for Poland’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is a really big challenge due to the multidimensional nature of the World Exhibitions. We had to show full commitment and understanding for the complexity of the undertaking, creating the concept of Poland’s participation in Expo Dubai 2020. This simple message that is clear and understandable for foreign recipients was meant to be a creative development and valuable complement to the architectural concept of the polish pavilion.
It was important to us that, apart from responding to the competition task, the Polish identification project at Expo 2020 in Dubai was minimalistic and universal, democratic and inclusive. That is why we limited ourselves to two color palettes, one referring to national colors, the other related to the Expo colors in Dubai and a simple word notation, which is to act modularly, as a part of the entire system.
We understand democracy and accessibility here as a shared space, not only the one designated by the pavilions of the world exhibition. It is to be a space in which it is easy for us to identify with the universal message “Creativity inspired by nature”. We wanted to respect that for everyone Poland and its presence at the Expo can and should be associated completely differently – that’s why we decided to leave the interpretation open.
This suggests the mechanics of the basic sign, which instead of stating “This is Poland. Period.”, is rather asking “What does Poland mean to you? “And “what do you think should follow after this period.? “
Period. Full stop. Dot. It’s not here to close and divide, but to open and connect the minds that create the future. We believe that we were able to depict it as simply and honestly as possible.
